About Being A Vegetarian
$3.00
Student challenges classmates to consider the ethics of vegetarianism
As a senior at St. Paul Academy, Nick Coughlin was required to give a speech before an assembly of his classmates. For his topic he chose an issue close to his life, that of being a vegetarian. His friends often challenged his convictions and he learned early in life that defending one’s beliefs demands a willingness to stand up to pressure designed to make one conform to the crowd’s opinions and life styles. This pamphlet is a reprint of his speech. Since these high school days, Nicholas has become a vegan and for years has been active in animal rights causes.
